Who We Work With

Recognized welfare organizations which have direct contact with children in need or crisis in south Derbyshire and Staffordshire including South Derbyshire County Council Children’s Services, Family Support by SCTSP, Harvey Girls Family Hub, Dads for Dads, The Pathway Project in Lichfield, Staffordshire County Council Children’s Services and others. Local welfare professionals from these organizations make requests for specific children whom they feel would benefit from a gift box. They give us as much information as they can about interests, likes and dislikes and may even suggest an appropriate gift but never identify the child. We then do what we can to fulfil those requirements and the agency will collect the completed box from us to pass on to the child, where and when they judge it to be appropriate. Our services are completely free, non-political and non-religious. All we ask is that children between 0 and 17 years of age identified by a welfare agency live within a radius of approximately 15 miles of Burton on Trent. The Young Ones already has contact with several local government and privately-run welfare organizations who have direct contact with children in need but more are always welcome to apply for Celebration Gift and Emergency Boxes at any time via our Contact page
